TO STON WITH A TASTE OF THE SEA AND TRSTENO ( PRŢVATE TOUR )
DUB TOUR 3: TO STON WITH A TASTE OF THE SEA AND TRSTENO (app. 5 ½ hrs)
Meet your guide at the port of Dubrovnik and start your tour to the small fortified town of Ston, built in the 15th century. Ston is well known for its medieval walls that circle the town itself and are the second longest walls in the world with a total length of 5 km. Ston is also well known for its oyster production in Ston Channel as well as for its salt industry. The near vicinity is known for centuries for the large sea salt production.
Your next stop will be at a local winery where you will have an opportunity to taste the delicious Ston oysters* (known as aphrodisiac) and to taste local wines.
Then continue your tour towards the famous green gardens of Trsteno’s Arboretum Park. Trsteno is famous for its 15th century summer residence of the Dubrovnik patrician family Gucetic-Gozze which is surrounded by a beautiful renaissance garden. Explore these historical gardens, which were used as the Kings Landing palace gardens in the third Game of Thrones series, and see incredible exotic plants plus a medley of architecture. Enjoy a view over the islands from its pavilion or take a walk to the baroque Neptune’s fountain immersed in the luxuriant subtropical vegetation of magnolia, black bamboo, laurel, eucalyptus, palm and camphor trees.
After this unique tour, return to the port.
